Kid’s Book Review: Mighty Myths

About the Book and Author/Illustrator

Mighty Myths is a spectacular, fun-packed introduction to the magnificent myths and legends of the world.

You’ll discover dragons and giants and three-headed monsters . . . but don’t panic! Two cheeky ravens will guide you safely on your way. They’ll show you who’s helpful and who’s scary. They’ll tell you who might eat you as a snack (very important!)

Book Review

It is more like a fact book about mythical creatures and lands and it meant I could read it in any order

I really liked this book. I thought it would be full of stories but it only had a few. It is more like a fact book about mythical creatures and lands and it meant I could read it in any order. I hadn’t heard of many of the myths and legends from other countries before and I really like learning about them. Some of them are very scary but some are nice and lots of them are strange! There are a few very short stories in it from different countries too and I really liked those. All of the stories had different messages.

The book is introduced by two raven characters and they appear on every page to guide you. I liked them, they are very funny and they tell jokes. They are scared of some of the creatures on the pages.

On each page there is a different topic (like dragons or giants or food). The pictures were very, very, very good. They were very beautiful and very detailed and covered every page completely. It helped me know what the mythical creatures would look like.

I would recommend this book to everyone but some of the monsters are quite scary so younger children might not like it.
