Kid’s Book Review: Bud

About the Book and Author / Illustrator

Meet Bud, a TINY rosebud on a BIG adventure.
Sitting in a cosy greenhouse, in an even cosier red pot is Bud. Every day, Bud is warmed by Sun and told stories about the BIg Outside by Moon. Bud is happy and content until … POP!

Bud is planted beside looming trees and wiggly worms. The Big Outside is SCARY – but new adventures can be, and there’s no bigger adventure than growing up.

A reassuring growing-up story with facts about plants, this adorable book will inspire green fingers in little ones while preparing them for their own growing-up journey.

Book Review

I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures on each page showing bud growing

Winter – we took this book with us on holiday so we could read it in the evenings, the story followed a little plant called bud starting his journey in a greenhouse like we have a home. And then being planted outside and what he needed to grow outside like sun, water.
He found it scary as there were lots of new things around him. But in the end he grew and grew and then flowered.
At the end of the story it showed you how seeds grow and how to plant and grow sunflowers at home.
I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures on each page showing bud growing and what happened next.

Mum – A lovely story breaking down how a plant is grown from seed to flower, each page with illustrations breaking down each step. With the added extra of how to plant at home which we will be doing. Overall a great read for teaching little ones about nature and encouraging being outside.
