About the Book, Author and Illustrator
In this cute book kids will learn how to be an eco-warrior with Dave and Greta as they find little ways to make the world better. Whether it’s turning off the tap when brushing our teeth, or not wasting paper when drawing pictures, Dave and Greta show us that you’re never too small to make a difference.
I want to plant an acorn this year
Mum’s opinion – This is an inspiring book advocating for us all to make small changes to reduce climate change. Dave, the squirrel and Greta, the owl show us it is possible to do this each day by turning off lights, riding your bike, hanging out your clothes to dry and reusing paper too. The book teaches children the importance of how the climate has changed over the last fifty years and that we can make a difference locally and globally. We love the idea of collecting four acorns and watching the seedlings and saplings grow.
Theo’s opinion – An interesting book with many ideas to make the world better. Dave and Greta got all the animals in the forest to spread the word as they held up posters ‘No trees = no nuts’ and the bear held up ‘I can’t bear global warming’. I want to plant an acorn this year with my Mum and I want to learn to ride a bike soon. I love the colourful pictures and animals in the book.
