About the Book, Author and Illustrator
A story about perseverance, determination, support from loved ones and coming to terms with the fact that there are some things we are naturally good at and some things that we find more tricky!
The artwork is striking, vibrant and very stylish.
While all the wolves in the valley are busy preparing for the for the big Howling Ceremony, Little Wolf is afraid to use his voice. Little Wolf thinks he’ll never find his howl – but then some wise words from Big Wolf remind him that even the smallest voice can make the sweetest sound.
The children loved and took it in turns to narrate the wolves howling...
The children are currently fascinated by wolves so receiving this book was right on cue!
The story of the book was heartwarming and had an unpredictable ending. The book helped to reliterate to Freida that trying and practicing is all we can do and it is ok if things take longer to grasp, if ever!
We were able to show empathy when little wolf stuggled to howl. The children loved and took it in turns to narrate the wolves howling…
They were amused with the ending and were very vocal at singing little wolf”s individual song. This ending allowed us to talk about individuality and acceptance.
