Kid’s Book Review: Little Wombat’s Easter Surprise

Kid’s Book Review: Little Wombat’s Easter Surprise

About the Book and Author and Illustrator

Little Wombat is busy collecting eggs on his Easter hunt when he sees Rabbit hop by wearing a special Easter Bunny costume.

It’s such a good costume that the tail and nose won’t come even off – but wait, is that really Rabbit? Or is it his new friend, Bilby?

Charles Fuge (Charlie to his friends) was brought up in Bath where a fanatical interest in wildlife translated into the drawing of animals. Once at Camberwell School of Art (where he was tutored by woodcutter John Lawrence), he went on to win the Macmillan Prize in 1988 for Bush Vark’s First Day Out. This went on to win the Mother Goose Award the following year, and a career in children’s book illustration began. Charles Fuge has since illustrated nearly 60 picture books including Sometimes I Like to Curl Up in a Ball which was runner-up for the Kate Greenaway Medal 2001.

Book Review

it is learning to be friends

This book was lots of fun! The animals are very different to the ones you normally see in books. I loved learning what wombats look like!

The story is really nice. It is about people learning to be friends. It is also a nice book for Easter.

I think anyone who has friends who live in Australia would also really like this book

It is a good book for bedtime because it has a nice story and they all go to sleep in burrows
