About the Book, Author and Illustrator
This hilarious story about a god who is banished to live on Earth as a “normal” school boy contains lots of ‘doodle-like’ illustrations (see the example pages below). Louie Stowell is author and illustrator of this book, which is the first title in a new series published by Walker Books.
Forbidden from using his AWESOME godly powers, Loki must show moral improvement . As he records his lies THE TRUTH in his magical (judgemental) diary, it becomes clear Loki hasn’t a clue how to tell good from evil, trust from tricks, or friends from enemies…

Book Review
I'd have read this book all night if I'd been allowed to!
This is a funny book about a god called Loki who is sent to Earth as a punishment. My favourite characters are Valerie, Loki and Thor but best of all is Valerie because she is smart and inquisitive.
There are fart jokes, but also other amusing things in the book that I really enjoyed. I didn’t want to put it down and would have read it all night if I’d been allowed to!
I like the quirky illustrations that made me laugh and helped me to understand a few things. You do actually learn about ancient Gods in the book too.
The story ends with a cliff-hanger and I can’t wait for the sequel to come out.
I would recommend this book for 7-12 year olds
