Kid’s Book Review: Meet the Dinosaurs

About the Book and Author and Illustrator

Young dinosaur geeks will love this rhyming introduction to dinosaurs accompanied by bright and bold illustrations and a timeline so you can track the era when your favourite dinosaur roamed our planet.

We recommend this picture book to readers aged 5- 7 years.

Book Review

I like that the correct terminology is used for dinosaurs, vegetation and the different ages

Mum says: Ilaria really enjoyed this book and I feel learnt a lot from it too. The premise is a nice way to introduce dinosaurs to children, the people go through a historical safari. I like that the correct terminology is used for dinosaurs, vegetation and the different ages. There is a timeline at the back of the book which Ilaria really liked studying and discussing with me.

Ilaria particularly liked the page about the allosaurus and asked for it to be read multiple times each time we read the book! The illustrations bring the dinosaurs and their world to life as well.

The only small negative I felt was that some of the rhyming was a bit weak, for example rhyming ‘oh yeah’ with ‘if you dare’ and ‘tee hee’ with ‘can be’. Other than that, a lovely book which we have already returned to a few times.

I would say it is probably better suited for slightly older children (Ilaria is 3). I would recommend it for 5-7 year olds.
