Kid’s Book Review: Peng & Spanners – Who Stole All the Pizzas?

Kid’s Book Review: Peng & Spanners – Who Stole All the Pizzas?

About the Book and Author / Illustrator

This is the first title in a hilarious new graphic novel series by Steve Webb about some missing pizzas feat. the action duo Pengtastic (aka Peng) and Spanners.

When the school pizza parlour disappears and a giant robot suddenly appears, Pengtastic and Spanners know that only they can help the headmaster find his parlour before the school inspectors arrive and shut him down.

There’s just one massive pesky robot to defeat, Cinderella the caretaker, who roars about rules and an incredible jail break to get out of first…

Book Review

I did not put this book down for about a week. I read it over and over again

I did not put this book down for about a week. I read it over and over again. I loved the pictures and words in the story. I found it so easy to read and understand what was happening in it. I really liked the brightly coloured pictures and different shapes of the writing. I quickly understood what was happening and someone had stolen Pizza Pete’s Pizza Place. The adventure was exciting and I was so happy they found out who stole Pizza Pete’s Pizza Place.

I loved this book from start to finish and read it all by myself. Spanners was my favourite character as he is an inventor, like me, he uses his imagination to make normal things exciting. I can’t wait to read another Peng and Spanners book.
The book is good for children of my age with good reading skills or older.

Note from Mum – Noah has always loved books and since he was able to read we often find him engrossed in them. This book he could not put down, he read it over and over. He was able to tell me all about the story without any prompting and it was delightful to see him so engaged. It is often hard to find age appropriate books for children with a higher reading ability than their ages but this book ticked all the boxes. It was engaging, fun and captured his imagination perfectly.
