About the Book and Author / Illustrator
If you have not yet encountered PESTS let us introduce you to Stix … a small mouse facing a very big challenge. Battle to the End is the most recent book in the illustrated series of adventures about creatures of the street. It is summer term and that means the annual ‘sports night’ competition with PESTS local rivals, VERMIN.
Emery Stamp is the author and illustrator of this series, as she is with the Diary of Pig books too, also published by Hachette. They are perfect for encouraging fun independent reading for children aged 6-8 years.

Book Review
The pictures where very detailed and meant I could visualize what was happening in the story
This book was written from Stix point of view which was fun. I liked the adventure they went on and the fact that they won in the end by helping each other to defeat the cockroaches and then the PESTS and VERMIN become friends.
The pictures where very detailed and meant I could visualize what was happening in the story.
It made me sad when Batz got hurt but I was glad that Stix saved him.
It didn’t matter that I hadn’t read the other books because this was about an adventure that didn’t matter what happened before it. Although if there was a story about one of the other the characters then that would be good to read too.
I think children around my age and maybe a bit older would like it (6-10 years.) I think if they where younger than me then it might be a bit long for them.
