About the Book and Author
This is an amusing cautionary tale for young children by Laura Mucha with lovely sunny illustrations by Hannah Peck. It is published by Faber who warn kids to be careful what they wish for!
Rita really really really wanted a rabbit. Spike was NOT a rabbit. He was scaly, scary, scratchy, scrabbly, scrawny, speckled and spiky.
Rita is so very sure she wants a fluffy pet rabbit and NOT a scaly, scratchy bearded dragon called Spike . . . But when a fussy, grouchy, messy rabbit comes to stay, she discovers they aren’t necessarily as adorable as they seem. Spike saves the day and Rita is very glad to be rid of the rabbit and very in love with her speckled, scrawny, spiky pet.

Book Review
I love reading it again and again
Mum’s thoughts: Rita’s Rabbit is a great story for young ones to enjoy. My son loves animals and enjoyed seeing the animals come alive on the pages. It is an entertaining and engaging story about a rabbit and a bearded dragon.
Theo’s opinion – Rita’s rabbit is a fun book. I love reading it again and again. I found it funny that the rabbit was so naughty and I was happy that Rita preferred Spike the bearded dragon in the end.
