Book Review

I enjoyed this book greatly, and think that the stories within it address a lot of important issues in the world today

Serendipity, edited by Marissa Meyer, is an enchanting collection of the very best of the teenage romance genre. With ten wonderful stories and styles, all just the right length for reading in one sitting, there really is something for everyone.

The stories range from more surprising, unexpected endings, such as The Idiom Algorithm, by Abigail Hing Wen, in which a boy called Tan tries to track down his missing girlfriend, to stories of same-sex relationships, such as Anyone Else But You, by Leah Johnson, in which two girls find themselves locked in a shop overnight. It is important for same-sex relationships to be portrayed in books because everyone should be able to see themselves represented in literature.

I enjoyed this book greatly, and think that the stories within it address a lot of important issues in the world today. I would recommend this book to teenagers, both those new to this genre, and those who are already familiar with teenage romance.
