About the Book and Author
Sidney Makes a Wish is a sweet illustrated story about friendship created by Lisa Thompson and Jess Rose, published by Barrington Stoke in their Little Gem collection.
It shows you don’t need lots of things to have friends - you just need to be you
I liked this story about Sidney who made wishes that he thought his old friend would want and that is why they didn’t come true.
I don’t think Billy was very nice really but at least Sidney made a new friend in the end and I think Carrie would be a good friend.
I don’t think it was fair that Billy ignored Sidney but at least in the end he got his real wish which was just to have a friend. If he really thought about it at the beginning he would not need to have spent all his coins.
It shows you don’t need lots of things to have friends – you just need to be you.
The pictures are really colourful and fun I like those too.
