Kid’s Book Review: Total Splashdown

Kid’s Book Review: Total Splashdown

About the Book and Authors

Total Splashdown is the most recent double-graphic novel edition from The Inflatables series of fun adventures about …. a bunch of inflatables!

Our young reviewer Storm, aged 6 years, found them funny. We think the series is a good way to introduce young readers to graphic novels.

Ready, set, BLOW! The water park is hosting the Airlympic Games, and Watermelon is ready to juice her opponents (especially Pineapple, who’s rotten to the core). But this year, the games are a team competition. Can Watermelon pump up her inflata-buddies to go for the gold or will Pineapple’s sneaky tricks deflate them all? It’s do or dive time!

Total Splashdown

Beth Garrod is the co-author of this series. The Inflatables, is a 6+ graphic novel series about the adventures of Flamingo, Watermelon, Donut and Watermelon at Have A Great Spray. She writes these with the Jess Hitchman and the stories are illustrated by the amazing Chris Danger. So far in the series there is Bad Air Day, Mission Un-Poppable, Do-Nut Panic and Splash of the Titans and now Total Splashdown.

Book Review

It's fun that the authors have brought a ordinary object to life

This book is a fun read. It is like a comic strip so it is easy to keep up with the story line. The pictures are black and white which is cool because I can imagine what it all looks like and I can make the characters look how I want them too in my mind.

The unimpressed pretzel is my favorite nothing impresses him until finally the movie about doughnut impressed him.

I think everyone should read this book as it is funny with little jokes and the more you read it the more funny bits you find.

I like that they go on adventures but they are inflatables. It’s fun that the authors have brought a ordinary object to life.
