Julia Tuffs author

After a brief (but fun) stint working in television and as a primary school teacher, Julia Tuffs decided to take her writing dreams more seriously. She now spends her time writing, reading, dreaming of holidays and watching too much reality TV.

She aims to write the kinds of books that shaped and inspired her as a teenager. Hexed was her first novel and Twice Hexed is its sequel.

Book Review

I felt that the characters were very real

I really enjoyed reading this book because it is something different to what I usually read. I would never have picked it up in the book shop as I would’ve thought it too young for me but it turns out is is not. I think that fans of fantasy fiction would enjoy this as well as anyone who just fancies a nice interesting read. I would recommend it to anyone between the ages of 11 and 13

One thing I really liked about it was the way that it told the story. It made me feel like I was there with the characters living the story and making friends with Sloane. I felt that the characters were very real and this is down to the way that Julia Tuffs wrote them and how well she did that.

When a new girl walks into assembly Jessie Jones find that she is staring straight at her the last thing she needs is a weird new girl hanging around with her since she only just got her life back. However, as she gets to know her Jessie fines that this mysterious new girl is not too different from herself full. In fact she is the only person who shares her secret… She is actually a witch!
