About the Book, Author and Illustrator
Budding astronaut Luna Scope wants nothing more than to blast off into space and explore the cosmos, but how does she go from a cardboard rocket in her room to running experiments on the International Space Station?
From discovering what shooting stars are really made of and learning how to complete a spacewalk, to rocket building lessons by Mary Jackson and space shuttle trips with Mae Jemison– Luna and her Granny take us on a crash course adventure into how to become a successful astronaut.
Meeting incredible female space pioneers along the way, Granny takes Luna on a fact-filled space adventure showing her that ANYONE can be an astronaut if they dream big enough.
My favourite picture is Luna’s room which has so many cool things in it
This is a good book for me because I like space. I made a rocket from a big box like Luna did and then I am astronaut. I learned lots of things about space that will help me when I go in my rocket.
There were lots of tricky words in the book my mum had to tell me what they were about. There is writing everywhere so I found it a bit confusing where to read from. I
like to look at the pictures and Luna’s dog. He is always doing funny things.
My favourite picture is Luna’s room which has so many cool things in it.
