it brought up lots of discussion about other names for things that have other meanings
Winter: When is saw the cover of the book I was excited to read it, the pictures of the animals were so big and bright. Mum explained to me after reading through some of the pages, that these were all things that had the same name. Some of these I have never heard off. My favourite was Cat nip as cats are my favourite and Hedgehog cactus because it was funny. The pages were big and easy to turn over. I really enjoyed looking at this book.
Mum: A great alternative book with a concept we haven’t seen before. The illustrations were lovely and great to visually look at. Along with the description written in rhyme was great for keeping attention. It brought up lots of discussion about other names for things that have other meanings etc, such as Winters name and the season. So, a great conversation starter. It’s a good size too and the illustrations filled each page. With just the right amount of text for little ones. A great read.
