Book Review

Everything you've ever wanted in a whodunnit? ✔️✔️✔️ 5/5, 10/10, highly recommend!

When I tell you ‘Your Time Is Up’ by Sarah Naughton didn’t disappoint, I mean it did NOT disappoint! Three hours to solve the mystery of a classmate who disappeared, all whilst taking an A-level maths exam? With a major plot twist at the end??? YES MA’AM.

The amount of second-hand embarrassment I was getting from this book was unreal BUT I became so attached to these characters that I actually felt proud when the realised who the “evil person” was.

So, the chapters went back and forth from different times or like places. It’s a bit hard to explain without spoiling it but basically, something happened in the past to Zaina (main character) and every few chapters or so, we would see snippets of what happened. To be honest, at first it was a littttleee bit confusing but as you got further on, it made so much more sense!!

THE PLOT. OMG THE PLOT! It was soooo good!!! A girl makes a promise to her dad right before he dies, and therefore has the tiniest amount of fun because she’s promised to focus on her education. AND THEN, she’s about to do her maths A-levels and then….. 🤐🤐 NO MORE! I’M NOT SAYING ANYTHING!

Ok, soooo, if you couldn’t tell, this was a VERY well thought out book. Plot? ✔️ Characters? ✔️ Everything you’ve ever wanted in a whodunnit? ✔️✔️✔️ 5/5, 10/10, highly recommend!!
